The definition of a boiler room.

A mechanical room is a space or room in a building dedicated to mechanical equipment and electrical controllers.
Powerhouses are constructed in various sizes based on the usage of the building and its HVAC systems.

In buildings that utilize central heating and cooling systems, the dimensions of the mechanical room become larger. In this type of building, all utility equipment systems are transferred to a single space, which makes their control and maintenance easier. The location where these equipments are placed is called the Boiler room.

In steam generation systems (such as in power plants, hospitals, hotels, etc.), a boiler room is also installed, which is called a steam boiler room.

Usually, the purpose of the equipment in the boiler room is building ventilation and heating. In HVAC (Heating, Ventilation, and Air Conditioning) systems, various methods are employed, and based on each of these methods, different equipment is used.

Below are mentioned some of these equipments:

For designing a boiler room, after determining the required equipment, the pumping system and piping should be selected, and then the desired layout in the boiler room should be determined.طراحی موتورخانه ، لوله کشی

The requirements in the design of an engine room must be considered, as a whole, they will lead to the design of the Boiler room.

In Iran, national building regulations have also addressed the design of individual components of the boiler room. (For example, the link to the regulations for water heaters is provided below.)
